Mary Crow, former Poet Laureate of Colorado and author of eleven collections of poetry and translation, published her most recent book of poems, Addicted to the Horizon in 2012. Her most recent book of translations was Roberto Juarroz’s Vertical Poetry: Last Poems, a finalist for a Poetry Translation Award from PEN USA. She spent a 2011 residency at El Gouna Writers Residencies on the Red Sea in Egypt; on the way there she witnessed the January uprising.
Mary Crow has traveled extensively in Latin America, interviewing women poets and reading their work for her anthology, Woman Who Has Sprouted Wings: Contemporary Latin American Women Poets, and collecting and translating poetry during Fulbright research residencies in Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Venezuela. Her book of poems, Borders, is based on these travels.
